Will and I grabbed our bows and arrows and headed to a 3D shoot on Sunday at the Barr Township Rod and Gun Club near Nicktown, PA. I had never been to a shoot there before but it stood out to me on the list when I was looking at shoot schedules back in January. The club is about 30 minutes from home and those aren’t easy to find nowadays.

I was excited that Will immediately said yes when I asked if he wanted to go. I’ve learned that if he waivers at all when asked to do things that typically means he’s not too interested. That wasn’t the case this time. He almost seemed excited to go so that’s a good sign going forward. Not only did we shoot, we created some content together too that led to the below video that I posted on my YouTube channel. This was particularly helpful because I attended a shoot at the Oneida Bowhunters near Butler the week before and thought I was getting great content, only to find out I was capturing photos and not video. Needless to say there’s no video from that shoot!

We really loved the course. The scenery was great and the targets were well placed with obvious concern for traditional shooters. You don’t always find that at local shoots so it was appreciated. There were two stream crossings on newly constructed bridges that were neat, and there were virtually no hills to climb. We definitely plan to go back later this year. Here are a few images from our fun day, which concluded with a stop for ice cream at Krispy Kream in Belsano.
